The hot water bottle cover is knitted entirely in the round from the bottom of the cover to the ribbed shaped top. The cover features colour work on both sides.

GAUGE
29 sts x 34 rnds = 10 cm / 4 " on 3.25 mm / US 3 or size required to match tensionover colour work in the round after blocking.

The Birlinn Yarn Company 4 Ply / Fingering weight Hebridean & Cheviot blend 100% Wool 150 m / 164 yds per 50 g Samples knitted in: Field Poppy (Yarn A) Bog Cotton (Yarn B) – red and white. Haar (Yarn A) & Reef (Yarn B) – grey and blue. Yarn kits: Field Poppy & Bog Cotton Haar & Reef Skeins: Yarn A: 50 g = 150 m / 164 yds - 1 skein Yarn B: 25 g = 75 m / 82 yds - 1 skein Alternatively choose from any of our Natural or Hebridean coloured yarns.

Our yarn is a limited edition, seasonal product. In the Outer Hebrides, we shear our sheep on our crofts in late June. The wool is then graded, bagged and sent to the mill for spinning. After that there is no more … the dye is set.
