In Jennifer's words: “An esker is a winding ridge of sediment deposited by the meltwater of a retreating glacier. There are many eskers in Labrador, and a little place aptly named, Esker.”
A beautiful collaboration between the unique lace and fair isle designs of Jennifer Beale in Newfoundland, Canada and Birlinn Yarn in the Outer Hebrides.
Referring to herself as “a self taught artistic knitwear designer” Jennifer is also an atmospheric scientist, physical oceanographer and physicist:
“I love writing patterns and designing, puzzles and mysteries, simply complex and complexly simple things, and the epic feeling of creating intricate things with small stitches. My background and love of maths, physics, and the unknown, seems to become intrinsically melded into everything I design. I just do what I do; my designs tend to be on the adventurous side of knitting and I hope they bring you some fun.”
